I am interested in a metaphorical exploration of the dilemmas in our daily lives.  The basis for the majority of my abstract work (quasi and otherwise) is my understanding of my own framework of personal choices and responsibility as they relate to my day-to-day experiences.  This process of diffusion, through my technique of layering and coloration, incorporates reflective imagery, while conveying the solace and passion of the human condition.

One of my other art forms is gardening.  There also I create arrangements of shapes and colour.  Are they windows of escape not taken but a vehicle for transforming thoughts into light memories?  Escapes where you can still get home by six o’clock?  This art will urge you to give consideration to the many tangents of the human condition.   Some time ago I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down.  But I am certain it had something to do with the joy of painting.

Take a little time, enjoy these paintings.  There is nothing deep or angst ridden about them.  Forget about your deranged schedule in the uber-world  -  breathe and feel enlivened in this artistic environment.  These works of art are all intended to exude a sense of play, a sense of delight.  Savour them ..... 

There is an obvious link between our treatment of the environment and the massive destruction of our delicate ecosystem.  This is causing extinction of species that will soon make our planet the best of all possible worlds for the rat, the cockroach and the dandelion.  I confront this decline, the consequences of which to ultimately be contended with by generations to follow.

In reality it’s not really a “Living Room”, “Dining Room”, “Den” etc  . . . .  Somewhere between your 40 hour work-week and that of your partner’s, running shuttle service for kids’ soccer and/or ballet class, getting to the gym, dealing with your sister’s “crisis” which consists of nightly hour-long sojourns about her spiritual direction which is of course long-distance over the phone, cooking gourmet frozen dinner and getting the laundry done, when oh when, will you actually enjoy your new, “warm, cozy and inviting” living room, relax in your den, lounge on your settee?

Yet again my art creates a focus on the emotional, combined with a hoped-for sense of the transcendental through an impression of personal experiences and a somewhat narrative content represented metaphorically.
